About Us

Our story

Where Passion Meets Purpose

During our years in clinical mental health practice, we noticed something: some people thrive in and love traditional therapy, and some people don’t. We wanted to create a space where both groups of people could come and receive support so we got curious about this and realized a few things: not everyone enjoys/ can think best sitting still; trauma/depression/anxiety can make us really disconnected from our bodies and emotions so we need to do more than just talk about it to heal it; physical and mental health are super connected and people are busy- sometimes we can’t treat one without treating the other (but so many appointments/ providers= more stress!)

We also learned through years of involvement in the fitness world that we are our most healthy when: we are moving our bodies in a way that works for our lifestyle and goals; we set attainable goals; and our language and that of our coaches focuses on appreciation for our bodies rather than shame.
Thus, the vision for Unbound Wellness Group was born: to provide both traditional mental health therapy with options for movement, physical wellness integrated therapy, and wellness/fitness training. Our hope is for this vision to grow into a little corner of the world where you feel wholly seen and supported how you need it most in each life season. Thank you for being here, we really are so excited to meet you!

Your Guide to Healing and Growth

I graduated from UNC Wilmington with a Bachelor of Social Work degree and worked in the human services field with children and families for several years before receiving a Master of Social Work with a concentration in direct clinical practice from UNC Chapel Hill. I have been a lifelong lover of mindful body movement/ fitness as a tool for mental/physical wellness and in recent years, I obtained my Certified Personal Training Certificate (CPT) through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. As a mental health clinician, I specialize in supporting children, adolescents, and adults ages 6-30’s in coping with PTSD, effects of trauma/life changes, anxiety disorders (including OCD), depression and executive functioning/emotion regulation difficulties. It is my passion and privilege to help you find freedom and healing throughout your whole self with additional physical wellness support if desired. I can also provide faith-integrated counseling from a Christian perspective if requested.
As a personal trainer, it is my passion to support people of all ages in: learning to move their body intuitively for health and wellness, reaching unique fitness goals, and finding freedom in movement that kicks shame to the curb. Whether it is your first time considering movement or you are looking for guidance to keep you motivated let’s do it together!
Therapy Modalities: Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

The Unbound Wellness Group’s aim is to provide a space for healing that sees each child, adolescent, and adult who walks through its doors as unique individuals with personalities and strengths that help them heal and find freedom in their mind & body. Statement On Insurance

At this time to provide tailored services to each client’s need, Unbound Wellness Group is an out- of-network provider.

Every month, a detailed “superbill” summarizing your attended sessions and payments will be generated based on your request. You can submit this document to your insurance company, which may offer reimbursement based on your coverage. You are encouraged to reach out to your insurance company to determine the level of coverage for therapy services. Please note that not all services provided by Unbound Wellness Group are eligible for a superbill and will not be able to be reimbursed for out of network coverage- these services are the “nontraditional” psychotherapy and fitness offerings which are detailed intake paperwork.

Good Faith Estimate

Under federal law you are entitled to a “Good Faith Estimate”, which is an estimate of the total bill for medical items and services. This explains how much your therapy services will cost. Here are a few key things you should know about your Good Faith Estimate:

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non- emergency items or services. The estimate is based on information known at the time the estimate was created. The Good Faith Estimate does not include any unknown or unexpected costs that may arise during treatment. You may be charged more if complications or special circumstances occur.
